Pilot notice. Wake is an early-stage pilot for inland peer-to-peer boat rental. Listings, lakes, owners, and earnings shown on the site are illustrative while we build. Booking a boat here instantly reserves your dates and creates a confirmed reservation — but no payment is processed during the pilot and coverage is not yet bound. This page is written in plain language for the pilot and is not legal advice; it will be replaced by full terms before launch.

Terms of Use

• What Wake does today. Wake connects people who want to rent boats with local owners and records booking and listing requests. We do not yet process payments, bind insurance, verify identities, or guarantee availability.
• Bareboat rentals. Rentals are bareboat (you operate the boat; no captain is provided). You are responsible for operating any boat safely and legally, including required licenses, life jackets, and local rules.
• No payment or coverage yet. Any price shown is an estimate. Payments, deposits, and insurance/coverage are not active during the pilot and will be added before launch. Do not send money through this site.
• Owner responsibilities. If you list a boat, you confirm you have the right to rent it and that the details you provide are accurate. Listings are reviewed before they appear publicly.
• Acceptable use. Don't submit false information, spam, or content you don't have rights to. We may remove listings or requests at our discretion during the pilot.
• No warranty / limitation of liability. The pilot is provided "as is," without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wake is not liable for damages arising from use of the pilot, interactions between renters and owners, or use of any boat.
• Changes. We may update these terms as the product evolves; continued use means you accept the current version.

Privacy Notice

• What we collect. When you submit a booking or listing request, we collect the details you enter — typically your name and email, and boat/trip details.
• How we use it. Only to operate the pilot: to review listings, to follow up about your request, and to notify the Wake operators (an internal notification is sent so a person can respond).
• What we don't do. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
• Retention & deletion. Pilot data is kept only as long as needed to operate the pilot. To access or delete your information, contact us using the address below.
• Security. This is a pilot; please don't submit sensitive information beyond what a booking or listing request needs.
